Remote Patient Monitoring

Remote patient monitoring (RPM) solutions use devices and virtual clinical support to collect patient data and provide remote care. Monitoring devices, like blood pressure cuffs, glucometers, and thermometers are sent to or administered in the patient’s home. These solutions offer clinician-facing dashboards and/or integrate into EHRs so that care teams can receive up-to-date information on the health of their patients.

Vendors focus on various parts of the remote patient monitoring careflow: RPM program development; design and manufacturing of devices; inventory management, packaging and distribution; clinical staffing to facilitate remote care; customer service staffing to provide logistical and IT support; and the data exchange between devices and EHRs.
